Welcome to the MYFest meets HiA space!
This is now a post workshop session area where we get to continue conversations highlighted during the work which include: (1) the need for community-driven de-centralized online spaces; (2) awareness of self hosted open source application platforms; and (3) improving our data ownership / data sovereignty, and much more!
Regarding HiA (AKA Hosted in Africa and pronounced higher), in short, we created our social network and collaboration spaces, to support Global African narratives and actions.
HiA espouses the universal message of uBuntu (a person is a person because of persons) and as such, our community of communities, demonstrates a broad collection of peoples from the continent of Africa, its diaspora, our friends and allies from across the globe; thus, giving meaning to the expression: Global Africa!
We are about providing choice, so if at any time you decide this is not the place for you, there is a simple process to delete your account and all your data. Directions on how to do this is set out in the “How to do!” menu item within the group area.
With that said, it is our wish of course that you remain with us and be part of the unfolding story here at HiA!
Karibu Sana! (you are very welcome! kiSwahili)
